PSSDC, Knowledge Hub Ltd/Gte collaborate on capacity building

The Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, will continue to seek partnerships and collaborations with local and international organisations that have capacity to further enhance its relevance to the needs of the State Public Service and those of other public service stakeholders, its Director General, Dr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison, has said.

Ajose-Harrison disclosed this during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Knowledge Hub Ltd/Gte, the partner institution of Knowledge City, Vienna, Austria in Nigeria, on capacity building in the area of knowledge management, research and documentation, saying the deal will further improve the quality of capacity building programmes offered by PSSDC.

The Director-General appreciated the collaborative intent of Knowledge Hub Ltd/Gte and its desire to make Lagos the knowledge city of Nigeria and Africa, and averred that the partnership is a historic one that will have positive multiplier effects on knowledge management and capacity building within the Nigerian economy and beyond, adding that PSSDC is pleased to partner Knowledge Hub, not only for the mutual benefit of the two institutions but also that of Lagos State in particular and Nigeria in general.

While reiterating the desire of the Centre to continue to seek partnership and collaborative opportunities locally and internationally in boosting capacity, Ajose-Harrison stated that PSSDC had been providing curriculum for knowledge development in the Public Service, adding that the Centre will not rest on its oars as it continues to contribute its quota to national development by providing cutting-edge relevant learning and development programmes through technology-driven resources.

Also speaking, the Managing-Director of Knowledge Hub Ltd/Gte, Prince Lekan Fadina, appreciated PSSDC for the smooth initiation of the collaborative process and added that the essence of the partnership was to begin the process for the development of knowledge capital with a view to accelerating the transformation of Nigeria into knowledge economy and society with Lagos as the epicentre. 

While expressing the view that the collaboration with PSSDC is strategic, Fadina harped on the need for seamless implementation of the partnership deal as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding, adding that Knowledge Hub is committed and would use inter-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and collaborative approaches to bring about sustainable development of Public Servants and other relevant stakeholders through knowledge sharing.

He further stated that being a partner organisation with Knowledge City, Austria and with extensive relationships with local and international institutions and businesses, Knowledge Hub was willing and ready to deploy the goodwill with a view to further deepening the frontiers of knowledge management and knowledge for development as well as to use knowledge as an instrument of change.
