DG charges staff on Mental Health

The Director General, Dr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison, has charged members of staff to pay adequate attention to their physical and mental health needs in order to fulfil personal, family and career demands effectively.

The D-G, who made this call while addressing staff at the June edition of Health Seminar organised by Centre’s Staff Clinic, stated that excellent physical and mental health are critical in the sustenance of good families and excellence at work places.

He admonished staff to take action on the various symptoms of mental illness identified by the Centre’s medical personnel by developing the right mindset to mental health issues, adding that “when you have the right mindset you can affect other people positively”.

He further admonished staff to always look at the positive side of life and living and charged all to recognise that “the beauty of what we have learnt today is that is we must provide solution to others, our mind-set must agree with what we have learnt”.

Earlier in their presentations titled “Mental Health Issues and First Aid”, the duo of Mrs. E.F. Morawo (Deputy Director, Health Education) and Mrs.  Adejumoke Oshojah (Nursing Officer) emphasised the need for mental health and urged everyone to closely pay attention to their mood and body system as well as those of their loved ones, get adequate rest and ensure their daily diets are balanced.

Highpoint of the event was the unveiling of health kits and gadgets such as First Aid Box, Automated External Defibrillator and other injuries treatment equipment received from the State Government.
